Wow, I love what you've done with the place!
I’ve been busy over the past 24 hours putting in place a firmer system for my WordPress blog to live. Now I don’t have anything against WordPress but ever since I started this a year and a half ago I have never been able to use it to its full potential; the reason was down to a poor host.
Yes I’d been leeching off free hosts and because of this got poor service: lots of downtime, slow FTP servers and other errors. I guess I deserved this as nothing is life in free…well that’s a debate I’ll talk about another day. So I plucked up the courage (and the hard earned cash) to purchase some paid hosting and a domain name. After browsing the web with my basic requirements of a MySql database and some php stuff I had a shortlist. After a recommendation from a friend I went for Weycrest Hosting. It was all set up within 12 hours after prompt payment by Paypal and I was ready to be unleashed to a reliable host.
16 hours on I have installed WordPress on the new host and imported the few posts I had done last week, I could have also brought some posts from the end of last year but I’ll keep it fresh for now. I’ve incorporated my Flickr and Youtube accounts on the home page for easy access using simple plugins. The Youtube one is as simple as a copy and paste of a code off the Youtube Custom player – perfect.
Now everything is far from perfect and I need to adjust various widgets and pages to link to my other social websites within the community including my Tweets hopefully at the top of the page. I would like to thank Chris Pirillo for this premium theme Wicketpixie which truly helps bring everything together on one site.
Here’s to a brighter future,more blog posts,more videos and a bigger community!
